Overview

Snowcat Bali USSR Cuisine, nestled on Uluwatu Street in Ungasan, offers a genuine taste of Russian culinary tradition far from the usual Bali fare. This modest restaurant, with its unpretentious and cozy atmosphere, invites guests seeking an authentic experience rather than flashy decor. It’s a welcoming hideaway for both locals and travelers eager to explore Russian flavors in the heart of South Kuta.

The menu is a celebration of classic Russian dishes prepared with care and authenticity. Starters like the Shuba Salad and Olivier Salad standout, rich with layers of familiar yet exotic flavors. Pelmeni and dumplings bring hearty comfort, each bite recalling the warmth of home-cooked meals. Soup lovers will appreciate the Солянка and borscht, each deeply flavored and robust.

Traditional delights such as Сырники со сметаной (cheese pancakes with sour cream) and Draniki (potato pancakes resembling hashbrowns) reveal the kitchen's dedication to preserving the purity of every recipe. Many guests note the large portions and the attention to detail—for example, the free homemade mustard served with okroshka, an unusual but delightful touch reflecting the owner’s commitment to true flavors. The experience is further enriched by a unique welcome ritual: each adult diner receives a complimentary shot of Samogon, Russian moonshine, which pairs surprisingly well with the savory dishes and adds a sense of camaraderie.

Beyond the food, the service delivers warmth consistent with Russian hospitality. Staff are friendly and attentive, enhancing the relaxed vibe. The space, while simple, encourages diners to focus on the gastronomic journey rather than distractions. For those chasing the taste of Russia amid Bali’s tropical backdrop, Snowcat is a compelling choice—offering a rare fusion of culture, comfort, and cuisine.

Snowcat Bali USSR Cuisine is not only for Russian expatriates longing for a slice of home but also for curious food lovers and explorers who appreciate authenticity and bold flavors. The addition of beers like Heineken shows a subtle nod to local preferences, blending international elements without overshadowing the core Russian experience.

In summary, Snowcat Bali USSR Cuisine strikes a fine balance between tradition and accessibility. It’s an inviting place to savor robust Russian dishes amid Bali’s vibrant culinary scene, delivering both the warmth of familiar taste and the thrill of discovering something new. Whether you’re in for a light lunch or a hearty dinner, Snowcat promises a sincere and satisfying meal.

The most authentic Russian cuisine on Bukit. The owner doing his best to keep true recipes. Big portions. Free home-made mustard to okroshka, which is my favorite lunch here in a sunny afternoon. The second place in my "Syrniki TOP" And the best draniki (almost the same as hashbrown). Special welcome drink for every adult guest You can also find here Heineken beer, unusual for Balinese cafes.

Woow shiok! Love this Russian restaurant. This place the vibe, food and service are very good. We tried their Shuba salad, prickled herring, pelmeni and borscht soup. All guests will have a welcome drink - shot of their moonshine plane. We kinda enjoy the moonshine, goes very well with the food, we ordered another 2shots,

We’ve driven past this place & always wanted to try it, and we are so glad we did! The prices are typical for a smaller sized cafe/ restaurant, but a must try if you’ve never had it before! Absolutely love the dumplings with meat & the cabbage roll. The pork grill is a little tough & took a while to come out but the pickled that cabbage that comes with it is good! Their homemade (I’m guessing) yoghurt is very delicious too!

Cozy spot for Russian food. They give a free welcome drink, which is a nice touch. I had mashed potatoes with battered chicken and mushroom soup — tasty and comforting. Friendly staff and a warm vibe. Worth a visit!

The best choice to try Russian food. I highly recommend Borscht (beet soup), lard, cheburek. Everything is just yummy. Especially prawns. It's fresh and juicy unlike Balinese style. Delicious.

Snowcat offers the best Russian cuisine I've experienced in Bali. I've been visiting this restaurant for two years and have enjoyed it since my first meal. When I first went there, it wasn't very large, but when I returned this year, I found that they had completely renovated the interior. It's now much bigger and looks fantastic. The food is still delicious, and I would rate it a perfect 10 out of 10. I'm happy to note that the prices have not increased, which is a plus. I highly recommend Snowcat to anyone who wants to try authentic Russian cuisine!

The place is expensive especially when you need to pay another extra 16% tax on top of bill. Is above average price.
